Dun,dun,dun....dun-du dun-du-du! Good morning Olympians!! Awaken to this "partially overcast" (translated in English: completely polluted) day with a slight chance of showers (translated: "we will seed the clouds, creating acid rain in hopes of seeing a star or two tonight over the opening ceremony. If we are lucky we won't overdo it & cause torrential showers"). So we are off to the races to see what's in store for China & the world this lucky day, 8/08/08. Hopefully many good things!

President & Mrs. Bush have arrived. They have taken over one of the top hotels completely. I am hoping they will call me for tea. If not, looking forward to sharing a pew with them on Sunday!

Wonderful display of creativity, talent, hard work, discipline & honor giving honor to the nation of China. We have seen 200 countries show their colors, their flags & their finest athletes. Now we are anxious to see the torch bearer. I am guessing that Yao Ming may lift a child from Sichuan to light the flame...we will soon see.

Well we thought the torch was coming out, but we have 8 old people doing Chinese torture by walking a bed sheet with olympic sign on it around the stadium endlessly...this is worse than the Academy awards & a preschool Christmas program rolled into one.

OK the sheet was the Olympic flag. Maybe NOW the torch...oh no its the Ping Pong players doing the oath.

What the h---...now we have interpretive dancers & THE CROWD KNOWS THE MOVES...WHAT PLANET ARE WE ON?

The flame is here!!! All kidding aside they have done an amazing job...and thankfully a safe olympic opening. The torch is lit...a huge torch...now the fireworks...the Bird's Nest with the torch rising above it is something to see!
